Guardians of your health

Smart computers: guardians of your health
An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure, as the old saying goes. The future of healthcare is indeed preventive, personalised and digital. Artificial intelligence (AI) technology will soon take a key role in keeping you healthy. But what does this mean? We will start with a light introduction to the concepts of AI. We will then show with practical examples how digital technology is about to transform healthcare. We will also discuss its impact. Is this only positive or should we (or our doctor) also be worried?

How to improve health care for all?
Josefien Van Olmen
Many countries struggle to find the best way to help people manage their chronic diseases, therefore many patients receive suboptimal care, especially vulnerable groups in society. In multi-country research, we can learn from best practices across the world, and develop solutions together. North learning from the south and vice versa. I will share with you the exciting and fun part of doing research across the globe, together with colleagues, patients, health workers and politicians. For better health, for better health care, for a better world.
