What did you say? Using brainwaves to help you hear better again

Ben Somers

Postdoctoral researcher in Audiology and Neuroscience

KU Leuven

Isn’t it fascinating how our brains can hear? Somewhere in our head, the vibrations in the air around us are translated to sentences we can understand and music we can enjoy. Unfortunately, many people are confronted with hearing loss during their lifetime. We can help them with hearing aids or even hearing implants. These technologies are amazing, but they are not yet perfect for providing good hearing quality in all circumstances. I will tell you about the next evolution in hearing rehabilitation: making smarter hearing technology by making it listen to your brainwaves.
