Societies can be influenced in many ways, of which the environment is a confounding factor. In recent years, there is more and more interest in sustainability of daily life and our own impact. Today, we will explore if and how we as a consumer could recognize and make informed decisions based on voluntary standards, as well as how we can improve the quality of our ecosystems.
Sustainability Labels. What are they and do they make a difference?

Voluntary sustainability standards such as eco-labels and eco-certification have emerged as an important governance tool to make production processes of commodities such as clothes, coffee, chocolate and many others more sustainable. In this talk I will introduce our research on voluntary sustainability standards with a focus on their emergence, proliferation and effectiveness.
Nature's Symphony: The Importance and Beauty of Biodiversity
Biological diversity - or biodiversity - refers to the variety of life on Earth and the natural patterns it forms. Biodiversity as described nowadays, is the result of billions of years of evolution, shaped by natural processes and more recently, by the influence of humans, even though we only represent 0.01% of life on hearth. In this interactive presentation, we will find out the importance of biodiversity in our daily life, which are the main challenges about preserving diversity on planet earth and what we can do to improve the quality of our ecosystems.
